I’ve just discovered this new project which seem very promising:
Is there an intention to also embed a “lorawan device” in such daemon for remote configuration/status?
So the LoRaWan server would see it as a device and allow downlink messaging for reconfiguration for instance.
This project is still in testing phase and will be integrated in the ChirpStack documentation. One of the features that was recently added is a heartbeat payload that is sent by the Relay Gateways to collect some meta-data. This will be integrated within ChirpStack (there will be a list with detected Relay Gateways). We might add a configuration payload later (from the Border Gateway > Relay Gateways), but that depends on real-life feedback.
