Concentratord module on mesh network stop receiving

Hello,

I set up a private LoRaWAN mesh network a few weeks ago.

In the attached diagram, you can see the configuration, which is quite simple:

  • 2 Relay Gateways (B and C on the diagram) model: RAK 7289 CV2 with Gateway OS 4.6.2

  • 1 Border Gateway (A on the diagram) model: RAK 7391 with Gateway OS 4.6.2

C communicates with B, and B communicates with A via the mesh network.

It works perfectly, but I have the feeling that the concentrator module on Gateways B and C is freezing. A simple restart of the concentratord module on the Gateway is enough to resolve the problem.

I would like to know if you have already encountered this issue and if you know the reason for this blockage.

I am also attaching the RX reception curve of the border Gateway, where we clearly see the data loss coming from the mesh, as well as the Gateway logs, where we also see a drop in the number of tracked items at the time of the blockage.

RX reception curve 3 Days

Log of case number 1 (concentratord module on Gateways B freezing)

Log of case number 2,3 and 4 (concentratord module on Gateways C freezing)

Log of case number 5 and 6 (concentratord module on Gateways B freezing)

Update

I’m trying to start Mesh in a RAK 7289V2, but didn’t have sucess. Always received these messages:
“Wed May 14 17:56:59 2025 user.info chirpstack-gateway-mesh[3688]: Starting ChirpStack Gateway Mesh (border_gateway: false,version: 4.0.1, docs: https://www.chirpstack.io/)

Wed May 14 17:56:59 2025 user.err chirpstack-gateway-mesh[3688]: Concentratord command loop has been interrupted”
Do you have some problem like that?
Best Regards,
Sergio

If your device is hardwired, check that your Ethernet cables are correctly connected to another Wifi point or switch. Learn more about how to set up hardwired devices. Mesh topology enhances network reliability by providing redundancy and fault tolerance. Since each device in the network is directly connected to multiple other devices, if one connection fails Mesh networks require strong broadband Shiraz Wine speeds, making it an unrealistic approach for people living in rural areas and underdeveloped countries. In turn, mesh Wi-Fi vendors and service providers will be at a disadvantage
