Did anything ever happen with copy/clone device profiles or is there anyway to export and then import tenant device profiles (not device-profile templates) so that customers can share their configurations?

Such function does not exist, but you could use the API for export and import. For re-using device-profiles (in the UI) the device-profile templates were added.
