Does the Waveshare SX1303 915M LoraWAN Gateway HAT support Mesh?

Hardware: Raspberry Pi 4 Model B
HAT: Waveshare SX1303 915M LoraWAN Gateway HAT
OS: ChirpStack OS 4.6.2
Quantity: 2 (one used for the Border Gateway and the other the Relay Gateway)

I have successfully configured the Standard Gateway model and Border Gateway model, meaning I see the Gateway and the sensor data in the ChirpStack Application UI.

I make all configuration changes within the ChirpStack UI. No command line.

My issue is that I have not gotten the Relay Gateway to participate in the forwarding of the sensor payload. I feel as though I have tried all available setting combinations within the ChirpStack UI.

My first question is: Can the Waveshare SX1303 915M LoraWAN Gateway HAT support the mesh configuration?

I ask this because…

  1. After many hours, I have not been successful in implementing the Relay Gateway, but was successful with the Standard and Border Gateway configuration. So I know the hardware does work.

  2. It is not in the “Supported Shield” list (Hardware support - ChirpStack open-source LoRaWAN® Network Server documentation) … BUT it is in the list of Shield Models on the “ChirpStack Concentratord” page.

If the Waveshare SX1303 915M LoraWAN Gateway HAT is not compatible with the mesh configuration, which HAT/Shield has been found to work reliably with the ChirpStack OS?
