Dragino TrackerD-LS problem

Hello all I am new to chirpstack and have added a Dragino TrackerD-LS to the TTN but when I try to add another sensor to chirpstack it sends a join and join accept in chirpstack but when I connect to the sensor through serial it says EV_JOIN_FAILED. Currently I think Chirpstack thinks the sensor is connected because I no longer see join requests from that sensor but my TTN network right next door does see it. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Even if Chirpstack “thinks the device has connected” it wouldn’t prevent it from seeing future join requests from the device. Did you delete the device from TTN before attempting the join? It’s possible TTN responded to the join-request and the device joined with that instead of Chirpstack, and now you are just seeing the uplinks in TTN rather than the device continuing to send join-requests which would be seen by chirpstack as well?

If thats not the case, and deleting it from TTN and triggering another join doesn’t fix it. Share some more info, or ponder these questions yourself:

  1. Are you getting any errors in the Chirpstack logs?
  2. Did you configure your MQTT topic prefix? Is all device ↔ server band / region configuration the same?
  3. What gateway are you using, does it have logging to verify it is receiving the joins to pass to Chirpstack?
  4. Are you positive the device profile is correct for the trackerD-LS?

Thanks for the response. They are two separate sensors. So I bought one to test with each network. I finally ended up getting it to work. It was what you said in #2. The sensor was configured for the right region but not the right sub-band.

Glad to hear it, I’m looking for a good GPS myself. I bought the D-LS once but it was broken on arrival and I never gave it another shot. If you’re willing, I’d be interested in hearing your opinion on it after some testing.

Cheers!
