Easiest way to migrate ChirpStack tenants and applications to a new server?

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to migrate my existing ChirpStack setup (with tenants, applications, and their related data) from one server to another.

I tried doing this with Docker, but the data didn’t copy correctly — some parts were missing or incomplete.

What’s the easiest and most reliable way to transfer all tenants and applications (and ideally their device profiles, too) to a new server? Should I back up and restore the PostgreSQL + Redis databases directly, or is there a better/safer approach?

If anyone has experience with this, I’d really appreciate your advice.

Thanks in advance.

Ya postgres + redis (optional) backup and restore is safe and the recommended method. Just a pg_dumpall on postgres and copy the dump.db file for redis. Just make sure the Chirpstack you restore the backup to is the same version.
