Hello

i am looking at installing Chirpstack, do you need to install the application, network and Gateway Servers or can i just be the application Server. if i have physical Gateway Devices. do i need to install the gateway Server

You need all components:

  • The ChirpStack Gateway Bridge transforms the gateway data into a ChirpStack data-model
  • The ChirpStack Network Server handles the LoRaWAN mac-layer
  • The ChirpStack Application Server handles the management of devices, encryption/decryption of the application payloads

Note that with ChirpStack v4, the AS and NS will be merged into a single “ChirpStack”.
