Kernel incompatible with kmod_tun(OpenVPN)

Hello,

I have the latest version of GatewayOS (base) installed, I think it’s version 4.3.2. I’d like to have my gateway (Rasp3B) running OpenVPN. I’ve tried installing the OpenVPN package from LuCI but it tells me it is not possible as some dependencies are incompatible as kmod_tun is incompatible with the current version of the kernel.

Does anyone have a solution or at least an advice ?

I’m curious on your use case. Is your intent to provide additional encryption (i.e. beyond TLS-encrypted gateway traffic) between your infrastructure and gateways in the field?

Constraints about addressing, security policies and access to specific DNS features.

How is this going to help me solve my issues ?

Is there any plan to make future releases openvpn compatible ? Or is there any structural issue preventing that ? Or do you not want to make it some sort of requirement and thus it might be compatible or not depending on luck ?
