Hey @brocaar, can you also kindly tell how does the FPGA (present inside the v2 gateways) helps in encrypting the finetimestamps? and why can’t we encrypt the timestamps using v1 gateways?
Hii, @brocaar @Yash_Pahwa @pooja.mittal
we have setup 4 gateway for device location
we have installed geo-server and configured with collos subscription key
can you please help me for geolcation of device
we are using below gateway for geolocation

Thank you
Hey @sagarpatel, are you using a v2 gateway, which consists of a FPGA, used for encrypting the fine timestamps?
we are not using v2 gateway, we are using below purchased gateway
https://www.wireless-solutions.de/products/starterkits/lora-lite-gateway.html
Can you please guide us
@sagarpatel According to my understanding, for the geolocation to work, we need correct values of encrypted fine timestamps. These values can only be provided by v2 gateways. I suppose the gateway that you are using is a v1 gateway and it does not support FPGA. A v2 gateway has accurate geolocation capabilities as it has an integrated FPGA with it.
Please refer the following:
currently we have v1 gateway
any solutions regarding v1 gateway for geolocation?
Thanks
Hey, @sagarpatel, we ourselves are looking to implement the following with the help of v1 gateways only, but no luck till now! Have you found anything on it yet?
Hey, @pooja.mittal
we don’t find any solutions with v1 gateway
but we can directly call collos JSON Rest API with gateway parameter and get device location
Thanks You
Hi, @sagarpatel what is the accuracy of the resolved location you’re getting? Is it upto lora-geo-location standards?
Can you brief about the orientation of the gateways, how far they are located and the test scenarios your observed.
Hii @Yash_Pahwa,
we are getting about 30 meters accuracy of resolved location based on lora-geolocation standard
For location resolving we have used 5 gateways please find below image of our gateway orientation
As per our test we are getting better accuracy in RSSI instead of RSSI with ToA
Thank you
Thank you, @sagarpatel for your response! But what about resolving location only with TOA? Then, what’s the accuracy that you’re getting?
@pooja.mittal currently we are testing with ToA & RSSI for better accuracy.
@brocaar can you please guide us for better accuracy with ToA & RSSI algorithm
Thank You
