I have ChirpStack 4.2.0 running on a RAK7248. Is is possible to update directly from ChirpsStack OS 4.2.0 to 4.6.1? Are the earlier releases of ChirpStack OS downloads available to migrate incrementally?
I unsuccessfully attempted to upgrade my RAK7248 from Gateway OS 4.2.0 to 4.6.1 as follows:
- Download the latest Full sysupgrade image for Raspberry Pi.
- Backup my current 4.2.0 configuration using LuCi Backup/Flash Firmware “Generate Archive” command.
- Upload and install the latest sysupgrade image using the “Flash image…” command.
- Migrate the backup configuration from PostgreSQL to SQLite by downloading the
.ipk
package from Releases · chirpstack/chirpstack-pg-to-sqlite · GitHub, then navigating to System > Software and clicking the Upload package… button to upload the.ipk
package. - The database migration fails with the error “Query table errordial tcp [::1}]:5432: connect: connection refused”. (attached) PostgreSQL appears not to open.
- The Status->Overview indicates that ChirpStack was upgraded to 4.6.1 (attached).
- After enabling the Concentratord and MQTT Forwarder, I was able to get the ChirpStack login form after clicking Application → ChirpStack.
- ChirpStack login refused my formerly correct login credentials.
- The read-only file chirpstack.sqlite was created in the directory /srv/chirpstack.
I hope there is a fix so I can eventually upgrade my Gateway OS 4.2.0 and configuration to the latest Gateway OS.
