Why does convention exist in setting gateway names?

Hello

I am going to modify the application server a bit to remove the gateway’s naming convention.

But can my work like this cause errors in the application server operation?

I’d like to see why I worked so that only numbers and dashes are available for the gateway name setting.

I’m using these names as human defined IDs, next to the EUI for aggregation and filtering (e.g. with InflxuDB / Grafana). However, this was a decision which I made a long time ago. I’m happy to open a discussion if you think this needs to be changed.
